Conceived by students and for students, the Academic Congress of Medicine of Espírito Santo brings with it the proposal to innovate the approach to medicine in its multiple facets, encompassing practical and theoretical knowledge in an environment where the interaction between students from all Medical Schools and Academic Leagues of ES will be explored.
The third edition of the event will take place at the Cineteatro of Vila Velha University, between November 08 and 10, 2019, and will provide, in the light of great names in Brazilian medical practice, academic-scientific contact of great value. We will combine theory with practice throughout the Congress through theoretical lectures, clinical cases, and simultaneous practical workshops, the latter organized by the Academic Leagues and their respective advisors in each area. There will be an exhibition of works, with evaluation by professionals with understanding in the area and awards for the best placements, as well as certification for all participants.
This is an event for those interested in improving knowledge and performance in health. In this context, the organizing committee of the III CAMES has the honor of inviting you to participate in what we believe to be part of the evolution of the Espírito Santo student scenario.

The III CAMES will be divided into four major thematic areas, which aim to move beyond the common technical focus of other congresses and conferences. Thus, we have chosen themes that seek to cater to audiences from basic to internship levels.
- Internal Medicine and Emergency:
Will address topics from these two major areas of medicine, without the intention of being too specific or in-depth, suitable for students in all years of their undergraduate studies.
- Social and Humanized:
One of the most beautiful aspects of medical practice is the privileged contact with human beings in one of their most vulnerable moments. In medical school, we learn to recognize and diagnose diseases, but sometimes we lack a deeper look at the person who seeks our help (especially when situations are more delicate).
Furthermore, just as important as the empathy needed for the patient, we also need to be kinder to ourselves. At a time when the importance of psychological well-being is one of the most discussed topics among medical students, we also intend to talk a bit about the importance of our mental health.
- Experiences:
We know that medical school teaches a lot about medical jargon, but what will you do with all of it after you graduate? In this area, we will explore some of the possibilities in a medical career.
- Innovations:
Medicine is one of the areas that has seen the most technological advancements in recent years, and it is a privilege to be part of this new era!
Without neglecting the importance of ancient medicine that accompanies us, centered on the patient and woven under the normal and the pathological, we would like to bring in this area some of the innovations in medicine: experimental novelties that are gradually proving promising in medical practice.
